I’m Stephanie Roas, an expert in intercultural competence and communication. But please, call me Stephie – I’m from Upper Bavaria, and that’s just how we do it there. 😉

As a trainer and consultant, I support my clients in navigating the world of intercultural communication and competence with expertise and joy, no matter how big or small the challenge. Exactly the way you need it.

And yes: my greatest joy comes when real “aha” moments happen – for the people I work with, and sometimes even for myself.

My journey – shaped by encounters, professional experiences, and culture (logically!) – has led me step by step to where I am today: your intercultural companion.

Studies in Tourism management and International Cultural and Business Management

Made me realize that intercultural competence is taught far too little at Bavarian schools and motivated me to change that.

Project management in international tourism marketing

Insight: Even within Germany, there are different forms of greetings and being part of a very multicultural team is great, but challenging!

Marketing Manager in various positions

Sharpened my communication skills and attention to detail – both of which you benefit from today.

Team lead at the School of Management of the Technical University of Munich (TUM)

Inspired by the energy at schools and universities – the internationality, drive for knowledge, and diversity – all while knowing the challenges public institutions face.

Certified intercultural trainer and founder of Kulturlogik

The future I’m building, and the perspective you’ll gain.

Together with Grenzenlos, I implement projects that would be too big for one person alone or that take place across borders in Austria, Switzerland, or Liechtenstein.

Grenzenlos, that’s Stephanie Roas and Margret Becker. Your experts for joyful and successful intercultural collaboration: One, a specialist in teams and academia; the other, a pro in the Arab world.

When I’m not here, leading trainings or consulting with you, you’ll usually fine me outdoors – in the mountains, climbing, mountaineering, or paragliding. I value a change of perspective not just professionally, but personally as well. When I climb a wall or look down into the valley from underneath my paraglider, my perception literally shifts.

These experiences also help me in intercultural interactions: building trust, taking responsibility, enduring uncertainty – skills that are just as important in the air or on the rock as they are in working with different cultures. And because being outdoors makes people more receptive, I sometimes hold my trainings there as well.

Speaking of taking responsibility:

Since 2022, we have been supporting Sunclimbing, the local climbing school in the beautiful climbing village of Geyikbayiri near Antalya, Turkey.

Born out of a long-standing friendship, our goal is to create, together with the passionate local climbers, a place where climbers – or those aspiring to be – feel welcome from all over the world. And along the way, we continue to learn a great deal about intercultural collaboration ourselves.
